中国北方工业公司(Norinco)已经发展新的4x4轻装甲车辆，称为VN3。
车辆目前为中国人民解放军低率生产中。
基本型VN3配备有一个单人炮塔，同轴装有12.7毫米和7.62毫米机枪。这些武器使用一个车顶安装的昼/夜晚瞄准系统来定到目标上。
其它的武器系统能被安装包括反坦克导弹。一种侧向倾斜电操作烟榴弹发射器，覆盖正面弧，被安装转塔每一侧。
在VN3上的标准设备包括一个防打滑刹车系统，核、生、化保护和一套火灾-检测和灭火系统。
可选择的设备据说包括水陆两栖能力，一套微光驾驶装置和GPS。

China North Industries Corporation (Norinco) has developed a new 4 x 4 light armoured vehicle, dubbed the VN3.
The vehicle is now in low-rate production for China's People's Liberation Army.
The baseline VN3 is fitted with a one-person turret, which is armed with 12.7 mm and 7.62 mm machine guns mounted co-axially. These weapons are laid onto the target using a roof-mounted day/night sighting system.
Other weapon systems can be installed including anti-tank guided missiles. A bank of electrically operated smoke grenade launchers, which cover the frontal arc, are mounted either side of the turret.
Standard equipment on the VN3 includes an anti-skid braking system, NBC protection and a fire-detection and suppression system.
Optional equipment is said to include an amphibious capability, a low light level driving device and GPS.
